Counselling from the green

"love and compassion are necessities, not luxuries"

Counselling with Jonathan- phone  online  in-person

In counselling, you do most of the talking: you are the expert on you after all. My part is first to listen carefully, without judgment and with openness to your situation, and to reflect back clearly what I hear. What happens next can take many routes, and that first stage may have been enough. Whether long or short term work is entered into, mutual agreement and respect are central. There can be a variety of approaches; here and now using the body, creative interventions, or a sharing of theoretical understanding. Either way, we will get to the heart of the matter, bringing your own wisdom, sanity, and capacity for love to the situation you have brought.

  • Jonathan studied TA counselling and psychotherapy at The Link Centre. Before counselling, he had a long career in therapeutic arts with visually impaired children and young people, bringing body and voice work as a musician into a clinical setting. He is also a practising Buddhist, instructing meditation for Rigpa since 2009, and brings this understanding to the counselling room . Passionate about ecology, he runs a smallholding in Sussex based on permaculture principles.

I have been practising since 2017 with a wide range of clients; from students to those with end-of-life issues. I hold a counselling diploma, am an accredited member of the NCS (national counselling society) and UKATA (UK association for Transactional Analysis) and abide by their codes of ethical practise. I am fully insured, with dbs.
